A look at the Defence news 11 – 17 July

After four months, the first troops of the main force of 43rd Mechanised Brigade returned to Eindhoven Air Base from Lithuania. There they had been part of 1 of the 4 multinational battalions in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The returning military personnel were relieved by their colleagues from the 13th Light Brigade. The multinational battalions are part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP).

Wijnen Deputy Chief of Defence

As of 13 July, Lieutenant General Martin Wijnen is Netherlands Deputy Chief of Defence. He has taken over the role from Vice Admiral Rob Bauer.
