A look at the Defence news 15–20 August
The Netherlands will store the spare parts for all F35 aircraft in Europe, as was announced by the US Department of Defense. This concerns the storage, dispatch and management of spare parts for over 400 F-35s over the coming decades. The RNLAF Woensdrecht Logistics Centre will arrange the storage of the spare parts. In addition, around 70 Dutch businesses will benefit from this agreement.
Netherlands Minister of Defence Hennis meets with US counterpart Mattis
The Netherlands Minister of Defence Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert recently visited the Pentagon in Washington DC, where she discussed the military operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lithuania and Mali with her US counterpart James Mattis. The two ministers also discussed alliance responsibilities and burdens, as well as the situation in North Korea and Venezuela.
