Dutch F-16s supported ground troops in Iraq and eastern Syria in 9 missions. In one case, weapons were deployed against ISIS. (This was reported in the weekly review of Defence operations (18 – 24 April).

Navy takes part in Joint Warrior
In the context of its participation in Joint Warrior, the navy is preparing for combat at the highest end of the force spectrum. Fourteen countries are taking part in this maritime exercise, the largest of its kind in Europe.
MIVD concerned about sale of weapon systems to high-risk countries
The Dutch military intelligence and security service MIVD is concerned about the sale of highly sophisticated weapon systems to high-risk countries by Russia and China. Large numbers of modern systems have gone to the Middle East, Africa and Latin America in recent years.
