A multinational inspection team assessed the enhanced Forward Presence in Lithuania according to NATO standards. The unit was rated as ‘excellent’ in several areas and did not score lower than ‘satisfactory’ in any category. The multinational inspection team therefore unequivocally assessed the entire Battle Group as being ‘Combat Ready’.
Commander of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee sees increasing potential for Eurogendfor
The Netherlands is no longer at the helm of the European organisation for police forces with military status. After serving the one-year term, Lieutenant General Hans Leijtens, Commander of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, handed over the Presidency of the European Gendarmerie Force (Eurogendfor) to France.
Patrol ship intercepts over 1,400 kilograms of cocaine
HNLMS Groningen has intercepted a major drug shipment for the fourth time in two months. During the night of 2-3 December, the patrol ship, which is currently operating in the Caribbean, stopped a ‘go-fast’ carrying 1,421 kilograms of cocaine. The Ministry of Defence released the news last week.
