A look at the Defence news 22 – 29 May

Sixteen fighter pilots are currently taking part in Fighter Weapons Instructor Training (FWIT), which is being given at Leeuwarden Air Base. During this high-quality practical training course, the pilots learn various aspects about their on-board weapons and are taught tactics on how to use them during air operations.

Furthermore, as the name of the course suggests, the pilots are trained in how to teach their new knowledge to young pilots. This particular FWIT class comprised Belgian, Danish, Norwegian, Portuguese and Dutch participants, who are all part of the European Participating Air Forces.
