Defence Ground-based Air Defence Command

Defence Ground-based Air Defence Command protects vital Dutch and allied buildings and locations, units and areas from the ground against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Defence Ground-based Air Defence Command operates independently, as well as in cooperation with other states, within NATO, for instance.

The command operates various ground-based air defence systems:

  • Patriot Air Defence system;
  • NASAMS system;
  • Fennek Stinger Weapon Platform;
  • TRML system (airspace monitoring radar).
