National Reserve Corps
The National Reserve Corps (Natres) protects and secures the territory of the Netherlands. Natres consists of approximately 3,000 reservists. They carry out their military tasks in addition to their civilian jobs or studies.
Tasks of the National Reserve Corps
The work of the reservists of the National Reserve Corps comprises:
- guarding and protecting vital buildings and locations in the Netherlands;
- military assistance to disaster relief:
- military assistance to maintaining public order and safety;
- support of their own brigades during large-scale exercises;
- assistance to military transports in the Netherlands;
- support of military units during departure or return from deployment;
- military assistance during major events;
- ceremonial activities.
