The Minister of Defence is a member of the Cabinet and as such is ultimately accountable for the overall Defence policy, as well as for its implementation. Defence policy is part of the national security policy of the Netherlands.
Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius was appointed Minister of Defence on 23 February 2026.
