Two Defence speeches have won the American Cicero Speechwriting Award. They are former minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert’s “Freedom adds colour to our lives,” and the innovation-focused “Think big. Act small. Start somewhere,” delivered by former Chief of Defence General Tom Middendorp.
Marines train local special forces in Africa
Last month, special operations forces from the Marine Corps trained 45 Senegalese elite colleagues in the African city of Dakar. The training course was part of US-led exercise Flintlock.
Leeuwarden Air Base receives European UAV simulator
Leeuwarden Air Base has acquired a European UAV simulator as part of a European Defence Agency (EDA) project. The simulator is part of a network of training simulators for unmanned aircraft.
