Threats in the digital environment
Digital systems play an important role in the Netherlands armed forces. Communication systems, navigation systems and sensor systems, but also weapon systems, are vulnerable to attacks in the digital domain.
Various threats in the digital domain
Threats from cyberspace can come from other states, but also from so-called non-state actors such as terrorist and religious groups and commercial parties. Threats may entail:
- Attacks on systems.
- Espionage. The Netherlands Defence organisation and its business and other partners possess expertise that is of great strategic and economic value.
