The Dutch contribution to United Nations Transitional Administration for Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Sirmium (UNTAES)

On 12 April 1996, the Dutch government promised the UN 6 staff officials for UNTAES. There was also an RNLAF F-27 available in Rimini for medical evacuation.

2 officers were stationed as requested in the IFOR (later SFOR) headquarters in Sarajevo as part of the UNTAES liaison team. The other 4 Dutch service personnel were appointed to posts in the intelligence section of the UNTAES headquarters. The 1st military personnel went to Eastern Slavonia on 1 May 1996 and the last Dutch personnel returned home on 22 October 1997.
