The Dutch contribution to international assistance following the earthquakes in Iran

On 15 May, flight commander Major F. van der Vaart and co-pilot Major H. Pasveer from 334 Squadron flew a KDC-10 to UNDHA's relief goods depot in Pisa (Italy) to load up with tents, heaters, blankets, medicines and other necessities.

33 tons of relief supplies

After a flight of almost 7 hours, the KDC-10 arrived at the high-altitude airport of Masjhad on 16 May at 2.00 hours local time. There, the 33-ton cargo was handed over to relief officials from the United Nations. That same day, the KDC-10 returned to the Netherlands in a non-stop flight of 9,5 hours.
