The Dutch contribution to flood disaster in Mozambique:

At the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a KDC-10 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force carrying 25 tons of relief supplies left for Mozambique on 8 March 2000. In addition, the Netherlands deployed 14 engineers of the Royal Netherlands Army to the disaster area.

The military personnel deployed trained around 60 Mozambicans to operate rubber boats that had been donated by the Netherlands. In addition, the engineers brought food, medicine, and clean drinking water to isolated villages and evacuated victims. They returned to the Netherlands on 29 and 30 March.
