The Netherlands and Belgium monitor the Benelux airspace
Belgium and the Netherlands will take it in turns to monitor the Belgium, Dutch and Luxembourg airspace. They use fighter planes to defend the Benelux countries from civilian aircraft with a possible terrorist threat.
The agreement is currently still being processed by the parliaments of the 3 countries. The cooperation is expected to come into force at the end of 2016.
