The air transport activities of the Royal Netherlands Air Force have officially been brought together under Air Mobility Command (AMC). The AMC at Eindhoven Air Base is now the centre of military air transport for the Netherlands defence organisation. The base is also home to international partners such as European Air Transport Command, NATO’s Multinational MRTT Fleet, part of which is managed at Eindhoven, and the Movement Coordination Centre Europe.

Strategic Monitor 2021: the Netherlands and the EU must pursue a more robust security policy

In view of the many global threats and problems, the Netherlands must pursue a more robust and independent security policy. In the annual Strategic Monitor, The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) and Clingendael, the Netherlands Institute of International Relations, assert that the Netherlands and Europe must assume greater responsibility for their own security and for creating peace and stability in their own region.

American helicopters fly home via the Netherlands

Until the end of April, an American helicopter brigade comprising 54 aircraft will be returning to the United States via the Netherlands. The helicopters will fly from Eindhoven Air Base to Rotterdam. Approximately 1,200 vehicles and containers will also travel to the port city, mainly by road.
