Dutch Chinook helicopters to the rescue in extinguishing a fire in Belgian nature reserve
Last week, 2 CH47D Chinook helicopters of the Royal Netherlands Air Force helped to extinguish a major fire that was raging on the Groot Schietveld military terrain in Belgium, just across the border near Zundert.
Strategic Compass will lead to a stronger Europe
Concrete and realistic ideas for a stronger and more self-reliant EU; this was the aim of the brainstorming session of European Defence ministers regarding the Strategic Compass. The session was held in Lisbon. The Strategic Compass is meant to set the direction for European security and defence policy over the coming 5 to 10 years.
