A look at the Defence news 1–7 November

The first group of Dutch military personnel has arrived in Bamako, the capital of Mali. They are preparing for the arrival of a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and the rest of the detachment later this month. The Netherlands is contributing the aircraft and approximately 90 personnel to UN mission Minusma for the next 6 months.

Dutch contribution to Iraq extended

The Netherlands is extending its military contribution to the anti-ISIS coalition in Iraq until the end of 2022. The same applies to the broad security deployment there.

Netherlands to extend its contribution to NATO force in Lithuania by 3 years

The Netherlands intends to extend its participation in the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) in Lithuania until 31 December 2024. Furthermore, the Netherlands Ministry of Defence is providing up to 80 additional military personnel within the multinational battle group in Lithuania.
