Minister Ollongren: ‘An act of terror and aggression with severe consequences’
The Netherlands Minister of Defence, Kajsa Ollongren, has issued her initial response to the events in Ukraine. Russian troops invaded the country early this morning. There have been several explosions already. Ukraine has declared a state of emergency.
Ollongren: “Despite our repeated calls for diplomacy and de-escalation, Russia has attacked Ukraine. That is an illegal act of aggression with serious consequences, in the first place for the population of Ukraine. We are in close contact with our NATO allies and our partners in the EU.”
