Ministry of Defence sends two F-35s to Eastern Europe
From today, 2 F-35s of the Royal Netherlands Air Force have been tasked with the protection of NATO airspace over Eastern Europe. They will carry out their task in the vicinity of Poland. This is the first official deployment of these aircraft by the Netherlands Ministry of Defence. The fighter aircraft took off from Leeuwarden Air Base.
Their deployment fulfils previously made agreements. In this way, the Netherlands is demonstrating allied solidarity. The deployment also helps maintain the integrity of the NATO Treaty Area.
