A look at the Defence news 7 – 13 March

France and the Netherlands held government consultations for the first time today. In Paris, Prime Minister Rutte and 5 ministers from the Dutch cabinet, including Minister of Defence Kajsa Ollongren, held talks with their French counterparts.

Ukraine, the situation in the Sahel, the EU’s Strategic Compass and the importance of EU-NATO cooperation were among the important subjects of discussion. The delegations substantiated their intention to undertake closer cooperation in a number of concrete objectives. In future, the 2 countries will also work more closely together in the field of defence than is now the case.
