Investigation into 1942 Van Imhoff maritime disaster

The Netherlands Institute of Military History (NIMH) has started an investigation into the maritime disaster involving the Dutch steamer SS Van Imhoff, which was sunk in the Indian Ocean by a Japanese aircraft on 19 January 1942.

Over 400 German civilian internees were killed in the disaster.

F-35s now also stationed at Volkel Air Base

The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) now has 26 F-35s, with 4 of these fighter aircraft stationed at Volkel Air Base and 14 at Leeuwarden Air Base. The remaining 8 F-35s are stationed in the United States for pilot instruction and training.
