A look at the Defence news 19 - 25 September
Last week, the first rotation of about 200 Ukrainian military personnel started the final part of a 5-week infanteer training course. In England, some 90 Dutch infanteers, together with international colleagues, are providing them with as much knowledge of the profession as possible. Shooting with live ammunition is the final programme component. After that, the Ukrainians will return to the front in their own country.
Military personnel on Curaçao provide assistance during passage of tropical disturbance
At the request of the local authorities, the Defence organisation has once again provided humanitarian aid in the Caribbean. On this occasion, assistance was rendered on the island of Curaçao, where a tropical disturbance caused heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning. 2 weeks ago, military personnel provided assistance on the Leeward Islands after the passage of Hurricane Fiona.
