A look at the Defence news 18 – 24 September 2023
Over the coming months, the Netherlands, Denmark and the Czech Republic will provide Ukraine with weapons, vehicles, tanks, air defence equipment and ammunition. The equipment will be provided by the Czech arms industry. The defence ministers of the 3 countries announced this in a joint statement during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in the German town of Ramstein last week.
Royal Netherlands Navy intercepts almost a tonne of cocaine in Caribbean
HNLMS Groningen intercepted almost 1,000 kilos of cocaine in 2 drug hauls. These operations were conducted on 11 and 12 September but only announced last week. During the first haul, the suspects only surrendered after warning shots had been fired.
