How do you counter hybrid threats in an amphibious setting? How do you deal with private armies and disinformation? These were among the questions addressed in scenarios completed over the past weeks during Baltic Operations 2024.
A total of around 9,000 service members, over 50 naval vessels and approximately 85 flying units participated in this major NATO exercise in the Baltic Sea. The Royal Netherlands Navy was represented by seven ships. The exercise was closely monitored by Russia.
King completes training flight
King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands completed a training flight in an Apache attack helicopter last week. He did so over the 300-hectare Spadeadam Range of the UK’s Royal Air Force, located near Carlisle in England’s far north. The training area, which simulates a war zone, is a real challenge to helicopter crews.
