The Netherlands Ministry of Defence comprises the Central Staff, the 4 armed forces (Royal Netherlands Navy, Royal Netherlands Army, Royal Netherlands Air Force and Royal Netherlands Marechaussee), the Joint Support Command and the Materiel and IT Command.
The Minister of Defence and the Minister for Arms Procurement and Personnel are at the head of the Defence Organisation.
The Secretary General (SG) is responsible for civil leadership duties. The SG also supervises the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.
The Chief of Defence is responsible for preparing and executing operations carried out by the other 3 armed forces services, the Joint Support Command and the Materiel and IT Command.
