The Directorate of Materiel Sustainment in Den Helder is responsible for the maintenance of ships, submarines and systems.
The Directorate and its customers
The Directorate of Materiel Sustainment has a large number of customers. In the first instance, these are from the armed forces Services and the various Defence support services. But the Directorate also carries out assignments requested by other national ministries and international partners.
