Publishing hydrographic publications
The Hydrographic Service collects data at sea regarding the seabed, the locations of shipwrecks and other underwater objects, and also maps shipping routes. The Service enters this information in a database.
Charts and publications
The Hydrographic Service uses the information from the database to produce nautical charts, official nautical charts for coast and inland waterways (the 1800 series), mariners guides, current atlases, tide tables and Notices to Mariners (NtMs).
