Podcasts resolution 1325 - Women, Peace and Security

Six remarkable individuals working across diplomacy, the military, activism and community leadership.

This podcast series was born from the international high-level event “Navigating 1325 in a New Security Reality”, hosted in The Hague by the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and WO=MEN Dutch Gender Platform. The event marked the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the cornerstone of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.

In a rapidly shifting security environment, shaped by hybrid warfare, gender-targeted disinformation and shrinking civic space, integrating the WPS agenda is more vital than ever. It strengthens our resilience, reinforces deterrence and defence, and ensures operational effectiveness in missions worldwide.

To honour this milestone, we sat down with six remarkable individuals working across diplomacy, the military, activism and community leadership. In these conversations, they share what WPS looks like in practice: from peacekeeping and protection to survivor leadership, grassroots mobilisation and rebuilding communities amid conflict.

Through their stories, this series highlights why the WPS agenda remains essential and why the meaningful participation of women is indispensable to shaping peace in today’s complex security landscape.
