If you would like to keep up with the news and updates on this site, subscribe to our RSS feeds.

At english.defensie.nl, you can set up RSS feeds for:

  • news items;
  • documents;
  • search terms of your choice.

You can filter per period or type.

Updates will then automatically pop up in your feed reader.

Select a feed reader

To receive RSS feeds, you will need a programme known as a feed reader. Choose and download a feed reader, which you can find with a quick online search. The Ministry of Defence does not officially recommend any particular feed reader.
Ultimately, the best feed reader for you depends on your personal preferences. Feed readers come in various types. Some operate via a website that can be accessed through a browser, while others are apps that can be installed on your phone or computer.

How do you add a feed?

Once you have selected a feed reader, go to its menu and look for the option to add a feed.
Next, select the RSS feeds that you would like to receive. Visit the appropriate page at defensie.nl (for example news items). This option is only available on pages that feature the bell icon and the text 'Subscribe to…' (see the image below).

Click on 'Subscribe to...'. A pop-up window will appear. In the pop-up window, click on 'Copy link'. Paste the link into the feed reader. Please refer to the instructions provided by your feed reader. You should then automatically receive updates from that page.
