A look at the Defence news 15 – 21 July
For two weeks, the Dutch Patriot unit was the centre of attention in Lithuania. Stationed at Siauliai Air Base, personnel of Joint Ground-Based Air Defence Command participated in Exercise Baltic Connection 2024. The aims of the exercise included optimally operating the air defence systems with those of Lithuanian service members, as well as with those of Spanish and Portuguese air force detachments that are currently performing NATO air policing duties.
Nijmegen 4Days Marches
The 106th Nijmegen 4Days Marches event is over. A total of 6,426 military personnel from 34 countries took part in this Walk of the World. 5,455 of them completed the walk. Carrying a prescribed load of 10 kilos, they walked 40 kilometres a day. Because of the heat, they did not have to carry that load on the last day.
