F-35 fighter jets are going to police NATO airspace from Polish territory. The military equipment that NATO countries have donated to Ukraine must reach its destination safely.

Dutch F-35 fighter jets will therefore be policing the NATO airspace over Eastern Europe from 1 September until 1 December. 

The Netherlands and Poland take the next step in their close collaboration

The Netherlands and Poland want to work together more closely in the field of defence. Today, Dutch minister of Defence Brekelmans and his Polish counterpart Kosiniak-Kamysz signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that end. The ceremony took place in the Polish capital Warsaw, with the Dutch and Polish prime ministers, Schoof and Tusk, in attendance.

Eichelsheim: Stability in the Middle East is important for Europe

During his working visit to Jordan, Netherlands Chief of Defence General Onno Eichelsheim underlined the importance of stability in the Middle East for reducing unwanted migration to Jordan and to Europe, and for preventing terrorism. He also emphasised its crucial importance for free trade. General Eichelsheim was in Jordan to speak with a number of generals and visit local training sites. He stressed the importance of cooperation between the Netherlands and Jordan.

Militarised Police Touaregs for Ukraine

The Dutch national police force is donating 38 Volkswagen Touaregs to Ukraine via the Netherlands Ministry of Defence. A ceremony was recently conducted for the handover from the Dutch police to the Dutch military. Defence personnel will strip the vehicles of their police equipment, carry out maintenance, and repaint them service green.
