The Netherlands Ministry of Defence has made its first aid drop in Gaza.

The drop contained food, drinking water and medical supplies and was carried out by a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. The Netherlands will be providing emergency aid by air for the next two weeks.

The Netherlands becomes first NATO country to support Ukraine through American initiative

The Netherlands is donating a support package worth 500 million euros to Ukraine as part of a new US-led initiative known as the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List. This initiative allows NATO Allies to acquire military materiel from US stocks in order to donate it to Ukraine. The Netherlands is the first to fund a materiel package in full, making it the first NATO member state to donate goods to Ukraine through this new initiative.

The Netherlands contributes to training of 56,000 Ukrainians in the United Kingdom

Since 2022, over 56,000 Ukrainians have received training in the UK aimed at defending their own country. The basic military skills included in this training were taught to them by international military personnel, including from the Dutch armed forces, as part of Operation Interflex. Netherlands Ministry of Defence Ruben Brekelmans recently visited the operation and witnessed the training firsthand.
