HNLMS Schiedam has joined Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1). This NATO fleet is committed to clearing the waters of sea mines, aircraft bombs and other explosives, while also protecting the undersea infrastructure.
On 26 January, the minehunter left the port of Den Helder for operations in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Atlantic west of Europe.
