The EU has reached an agreement for the collaborative procurement of ammunition for Ukraine. The ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence reached this agreement during the Jumbo meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The production and delivery of, among other things, 155mm artillery ammunition for Ukraine will be significantly ramped up thanks to the agreement.
NATO Innovation Fund to establish its headquarters in the Netherlands
The headquarters of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) is to be located in the Netherlands. The NIF is one of NATO's initiatives to drive innovation within the alliance. The arrival of the fund was announced last week. The NIF will be officially launched during the NATO summit in Vilnius in July.
Dutch military personnel deploy to Germany to train Ukrainian infantry
Around 60 Royal Netherlands Army personnel are to provide training for Ukrainian troops for 4 weeks. The infantry company training is part of the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM). Minister Kajsa Ollongren informed the House of Representatives to that effect last week. The military personnel who are to provide the training will leave for Germany at the end of this month.
